seeing circles...

it started a while back, unfinished......sat alone...unknown destination...varying colors and textures with no bounds...revisited this week, and i cannot spend enough time with her...she is a bountiful reprieve of colors and there is a calm that is coming out of it all...just like life...gets muddled and confused, feels like it is going nowhere, then gets shined up and the craziness gets erased and only the bits that matter shine through...
how's your week going?
hoping it is colorful and what was not so clear is becoming more defined everyday...

A sweet little reclaimed tile, this batch of tiles was scheduled to end up in the land fill, sad and alone to not experience a promising future...alas, I came along & scooped them up, gave them a new direction and outlook on life...to now share with you!

hands are good...

have you ever stopped to thank your hands?
hands are good...no wait...hands are marvelously wonderful and downright amazing
i stayed up late making handmade gifts for teachers last night
and as i sipped my tea and worked quietly to the hum of the refrigerator (yes i work near my kitchen)
it struck me that my hands are such a lovely gift...

they create and keep exploring with new things, they pick up paintbrushes, they don't listen to the fears in my head (most of the time), mend and sew various things,  they scratch and rub backs, they caress, hold and feel the soft skin of little ones, they rub bellies (4 and 2 legged creatures alike), they type blog posts, write letters, place cards in the mail...well, the list just goes on and on...
and although, i am cursed by some early signs of joint pain and stiffness...a burden handed (no pun there) down by my father...my hands keep working and growing (not literally)...
what have your hands been up to lately?

goodness greenness...

here is how my days begin..and goodness me, it is a great way to face the day, i must say!
get out your blender
place a handful (or more) spinach or kale
one frozen banana
a few ice cubes
almond milk  (vanilla/unsweetened if you prefer a tad bit sweeter)
dash of cinnamon
and let it all blend blend blend

i usually like mine in a mason jar or tall glass with a straw...how about you?

ready to face anything today!

soft sweet man...

this is Luke the wonderful...he is a guy of many traits (one is a love for the kitchen, dishwasher and cutting boards...only because they contain remnants and morsels of yummy treats),

we like to think he is tad bit more intelligent than he really is, but that is ok...he is loved so nonetheless..and well, in this apron, he is truly lovable...come on in the kitchen and cook ( or pick up the crumbs) with me Lukers....

deep blue sea..

i would not consider myself a 'boat' gal, whatever that might be, really what i mean to say is that i have been out to sea quite a few times in varying vessels, sailboats, catamarans, fishing boats, whale watching, snorkeling cruises, sunset happy hour boat rides..well, you get the picture...

however, not by any means am i a regular sea faring gal (not to mention i suffer horribly from sea sickness)...so this past weekend we went out to sea...the weather was gloomy, cool..actually quite cold, choppy (ugggg) and well, believe it or not...

relaxing..

there is something so amazing about the great blue sea...about the endless horizon, wind whipping, waves crashing and the seemingly bottomless sea below...i thought about the glorious colors of gray, blue, green and the way the sea never rests...a wonderful reminder that mother nature truly is awe inspiring...don't you agree?
