Advice from a Tree...

I have, in my time, met countless upon countless trees of whom I regard with the utmost respect and awe...from places long ago traveled to recent encounters, they all leave an impression and impact on me for which words cannot describe...today I returned to my yoga practice after a non planned break, I have felt a imbalance, a uncomfortableness in my bones, joints, muscles...weeks have slipped by and this sacred time I carve out for this bliss has somehow fell to the sidelines...well, no more....as those of you know, who practice Yoga, there are no words to describe the openness, the heart awakening, the mind and body melting...so, I was happy when our instructor announced a tree connecting practice today...after much balancing (and realizing how imbalanced I am of late), our practice came to an end with a quote, of which I wanted to share...hmmm, since I will be embarking on a amazing journey in one week from today, and going to where the rain is plentiful and trees grow in happy abundance, I think it only right to focus on this amazing connection and may we all learn from this wise advice.

Advice from a Tree
By Ilan Shamir

Dear Friend,

Stand Tall and Proud Sink your roots deeply into the Earth
Reflect the light of a greater source
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons For each yields its own abundance
The Energy and Birth of Spring
The Growth and Contentment of Summer
The Wisdom to let go of leaves in the Fall
The Rest and Quiet Renewal of Winter
Feel the wind and the sun
And delight in their presence
Look up at the moon that shines down upon you
And the mystery of the stars at night.
Seek nourishment from the good things in life Simple pleasures
Earth, fresh air, light
Be content with your natural beauty
Drink plenty of water
Let your limbs sway and dance in the breezes
Be flexible
Remember your roots
Enjoy the view!
