just in a day...

just today...
everyone in this house woke up on a different side of life...
wee ones argued over little dolls and where they belong,
to the point of extreme yelling,
a glass broke in the dishwasher upon removal &
evacuation of a kitchen took place, not completely efficiently...
it took one hour to leave the house for 20 minutes,
swimming lessons did not come to a smooth ending due to the
wrong pants in the bag (which mum packed), and that statement got repeated 300 times in an hour.
someone forgot underwear and complained about a wet bathing suit under shorts for 2 hours...
the library had a 'special needs folks' day and mum had to explain (eloquently and in ears shot) how we don't stare and everyone is wonderful in their own way...
a mother looses her child at the same said library and there is a sense of chaos that words cannot describe...
she finds him, all is well...(sigh of relief)
hubby rear ends a off duty police officer on way to work and a simple issue @ 20 mph is blown into space, with ambulance, firetrucks, multiple police and I am at a loss to understand where our society has gone...
a walk on the golf course at sunset brings arguments from wee ones (again) who do not have the chance to 'pick up poop' (who would have thunk such an argument would exist?).
and so it is bedtime, and there is much to do...but alas, I can only make a cup of sleepytime tea (do not need any sleep aids at this time) but I love this life...in all it's ups and downs...

how was your day? really, let me know...

hard to find...

sometimes it just becomes clear...
that time itself is quite hard to find here in my wee world.
and now that summer is upon us and mumness is in full swing...
well, time is truly just not my own, and that is all really, very lovely...
i am quite fine with it all, i must say...
i have learned to let go~

of the pull
of the stress of not getting things of my own done
of the desire to shift into work mode
of the need to drift into me mode
of the longing for girlfriend chat on the phone time
it all is taken by picnics & tea parties on blankets in parks, our patio, beaches or pools...
in cuddles and books in the middle of the day
in giggling and hiding behind corners to surprise each other as we play secret spies...
in watching little ones jump poolside and bodysurf on waves two times their size

it is being in the moment and loving it all that makes letting go of what all really seems quite small, really easy i must say...
(if that sounds Seuss-like, it very well might, for that is a big part of our library)
so, if i am not here as much as i'd like
i know you kind spirits will understand...
but do not fret, there are so many treasures and adventures to share so do stop in with a cup of tea for i am so happy to have you here in this space.

diy springtime bird feeder

well, spring has sprung and i am not sure where you are, but over here in the countryside not far from the beach there is an abundance of
sun
blooming flowers
shorter sleeves
warmer days
longer days
open windows whilst sleeping
loads of pollen in the air
green fields and blue skies
the anticipation of summer around the corner
and birds
birds
birds
so we thought it would only be right and serve our feathered folk in a kind way so we figured we'd create a lovely bird feeder
which is working quite well to say the least...for sure a local, rather large, very blue bird would contest to happy days and well fed fly by's...so here you go...

1. take one medium to large pinecone
2.slather it with peanut butter of your choosing (meaning you could go the rather inexpensive route or do a higher end organic kind)

3. slather means get it in all the nooks and crannies of that pinecone

4. then roll around in a bowl of universal blend bird seed
5. hang with some fishing line from a visible spot outside a window (we opted for the kitchen) and watch as your home becomes the most popular dining spot in town amongst the lovely flying folk.

this will be a messy project, which is a huge part of the fun so get down and peanut buttery, bird seedy and have fun!

happy spring!
